Nicholas Cohee 2019

Nicholas Cohee 2019

Nicholas Cohee is all about having fun! He finds motivation in being able to complete fun activities and use the Ipad as part of his therapy. Although it may seem like all fun and games, Nicholas has worked diligently in his therapy sessions and his hard work really shows! At the beginning of his therapy journey, he had to be promised fun activities and the iPad to even get him in the room. Now, he is transitioning back to the treatment rooms with only the promise of having fun!

Nicholas has been seen by Occupational Therapy since March of 2016 and Physical Therapy since December of 2017. At the time of evaluation, he was nearly 2 years behind in his fine motor and coordination skills.  He has worked on and has made significant improvements with his transitioning, handwriting, coordination, and visual scanning and processing abilities. His mother, Michelle reports “his progress has been steady and gradual.”

Nicholas’ parents, Thomas and Michelle, as well as his siblings, have been hugely supportive of his therapy. They often complete activities with him at home too! His grandparents also assist in providing transportation to and from his therapy appointments! His family says “He is less frustrated with his activities both in school and at home”.

One of Nicholas’ therapy goals involved throwing, catching, and kicking a ball. This year he is not only signed up, but also participating and having fun with flag football.

Nicholas has made tremendous progress and thanks his therapists for making therapy so fun! Franciscan Care Services are proud to support and celebrate each victory with him! Keep up the good work!
