Retail Pharmacist
Franciscan Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Retail Pharmacist to join our collaborative pharmacy team and support high-quality patient care across our community, inpatient, and long-term care settings.
In this role, you will oversee day-to-day community pharmacy operations while ensuring full compliance with state and federal regulations. You will work closely with pharmacy technicians and healthcare professionals to deliver safe, effective, and cost-conscious medication services. Key responsibilities include inventory management, medication therapy management, patient education, and supporting smooth, reliable drug distribution throughout the organization. This position includes participation in scheduled weekend coverage.
Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday, Saturday AM rotation
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform comprehensive medication reviews and assessments to ensure appropriate and safe medication therapy for patients.
- Provide clear and concise medication counseling to patients.
- Work closely with healthcare teams to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety, medication-related outcomes, and overall healthcare delivery.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and/or Experience
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited school of pharmacy
- Active or ability to obtain an unrestricted pharmacy license in the state of Nebraska
- Completion of a postgraduate residency program in ambulatory care pharmacy or equivalent experience, preferred
- Strong clinical knowledge and understanding of ambulatory care pharmacy practice
