Neck & Back Pain

Neck and back pain can occur due to a variety of reasons including, but not limited to: muscle or tendon strain, ligament sprain, disc injuries, arthritic changes, or trauma. As a result, individuals can experience severe pain in the neck or back and potentially even radicular symptoms into the arms or legs. Physical therapists work to identify the causes of pain and utilizes interventions to help alleviate symptoms. Treatments may include flexibility exercises, traction, strengthening and conditioning, education on proper posture, joint mobilization, nerve mobilization, and massage.
